Sleep system fail
Came with a non us military black bag looks like a cheap chineese bag. The tag was obviously cut off the bottom of the black bag making a hole in it. Had to get a black bag from another vendor as my email to customer service was ignored

Not bad for the price - one fatal flaw
Patrol bag and Bivy bag are military. Inner black bag, as stated in the product description, is not. (made in China) For the price, I can live with it - but unlike the black inner bag pictured, neither of mine came with SNAPS to keep it in place when used in conjunction with the rest of the system. Also - both bivys had a few snaps that are damaged beyond repair...again - something I can live with for the price. Worthy of keeping and returning.

Question on bivvy bag weight
How much does just the camo gortex bivvy bag by itself weigh?

5 stars if less than a pound and now i dont need a tent!

I have a question... What are the dimensions for this? I'm a bigger guy so not sure if it will fit me.

Highly Recommend U.S. Modular Sleep System and Major Surplus
I recently purchased two Military Modular Sleep systems from Major Surplus. I expected since they were Military Surplus and such a low price that I would have to do some repair work on them.
That couldn't have been further from the truth. I received the bag in an short time after ordering them. When I unboxed them I notice the stuff bags looked brand new. When I took the bags out of the stuff bag they also looked brand new. I inspected each bag and Gore-Tex bivy cover inside and out, they were absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend this system for anyone looking for a top notch sleeping system that is great under anything thrown at them. I also highly recommend Major Surplus for their awesome service.

Thank you for your review! Unfortunately, at this time we only carry this system in woodland camo. We appreciate you shopping on our site and apologize we were not able to accommodate the color you were interested in!

I have used this system
While I haven't purchased this yet, I have used it in the field. Six years at Fort Drum, NY, with air temps down to -35*. During warm weather, I just used the bivvy bag and my woobie. The great thing about this system is that you can add or remove pieces to suit the expected weather.

Biggest con I can think of is the weight for the full system, if you plan on doing any extended backpacking. I am working up to do the Appalachian Trail, and right now this is going to be my GO-TO system, which can be modified as the weather changes. I can forward the heavier layers to say Vermont before I hit the White Mountains,

For a prepper, looking for a good SHTF sleep system, this is it.
