My daughter ordered me one of these as a gift. I was really surprised at the quality of these. It's as if it had never been worn, but did have an odor from storage. As is expected with vintage military items. Now if I could only find some information for the proper cleaning of these, I'll be good to go. Thanks for having such a nice piece of history at a much appreciated price.
I got a Med. I'm 5'9 and 145. It fits exactly how an overcoat should, sleeves down to the pinch of the hand and shoulders about 3/4" wider than my actual shoulders. The length is long and about 10" off the floor. The coat might appear thin but it is very heavy. I saw a review on another site that says "it's very thin and you should wear layers underneath". Obviously that person wrote the review after unpacking and not wearing it. This coat is beyond warm. It's hot. These coats were made for their Soldiers and are quality. Keep in mind that their winters can be -5 to -15 C for weeks at a time. This coat is no joke. I have another coming that I payed $40 for somewhere else. Wish I looked at Major 1st. Doesn't matter because this coat is well worth the money. Oh, and the look of the coat, wow. This thing just looks badass. Beautiful, it screams quality! It looks better than most high end coats on the market today and definitely looks better than what the US Army issued me in the 90's. It's also warmer. Buy a couple of them before their gone. Most people that shop here love surplus and they will eventually disappear when people find out about them. This coat is like an unknown secret. The date in mine is 1983, how cool is that? Get them while you can! Also Majorsurplus had it on my door a day earlier than expected. PROPS to them!
Great coat, exactly what I wanted. Was much heavier and thicker than I thought but those were pluses, it was also much longer than I thought as well, it reaches down to nearly the top of my boot. Awesome coat. Will be very warm with a sweater or hoodie underneath. For people wondering what size to buy, I bought a large, at 5'11 3/4", 180 pounds, average build, broad shoulders. Fits like a glove. Definitely worth the 20 dollars. Would've spent 60-70 happily. Thanks Major Surplus!
Good quality coat, good for a cold winter day if you wear an insulated under jacket or sweater. Extra cold protection from its length. Best deal for a Cold War sousvenir. Get several and give to friends
