A good emergency meal to go. For your car or truck.
When I first saw this item in the catalog I thought it was a great idea.

My FAVORITE item that I would buy for my friends is the 'NATO chow set' which includes a fork, knife, and spoon. The fork and spoon can be pulled out of the handle as separate pieces. This item is incredibly handy for lunch bags where you can carry just this one item instead carrying 3 pieces of silverware in your daily lunch bag.

The food is edible but not great. The water is drinkable but would be better mixed with powered drink mix like tang or something else. This could be improved if Major Surplus and Survival would experiment with freeze dried meals / fruit snacks, more water pouches, but in doing so would raise the costs due to larger containers to hold the various items that are featured here.

I would have preferred more water and snack items in this box but still it isn't a bad idea for the potential prepper for their car or truck.

Great Start, needs a little work.
(I did a video review on Youtube. Here's the first half.

As a grab and go type thing, it's not bad. Not perfect, but not bad.

As a way to help move items that are slow movers, it's a great marketing idea. But again, it could use some refinement.

Personally, as much as I like the NATO chow set, I would have rather it been left out of this one. Instead, give me 2 civillian accessory packs with spoon, coffee, sugar, and creamer, and it would have worked out much better.

Thats another thing. They included 6 packets of water, but no beverage mixes like coffee, tea, or cocoa. I've got a mug, a stove, and water....Heck even bullion packets would have been nice.

Honestly, In a survival situation, I could see splitting this into 2 or 3 days easy. Except for the water. 24oz of water isn't much, and while I'll agree it's better than nothing, a couple of steri-tabs and a collapsible canteen would have worked so much better.

All in all, more plus's than Minus's.
